My first semester at a Cal Sate University and things have been crazy busy. The transfer process was easy enough and getting used to the new, much larger, campus didn't prove too difficult. I didn't think my classes would be too promising within the first week but they proved to be otherwise and I'm definitely more excited about these classes than any of the community college classes I took.
Busy! So much more work but it is much more satisfying. I'm taking Illustration A, Graphic Design A, Writing in the Visual Arts, and Film Music. I commute a 30 minute drive three times a week and spend most of those days at school. (My illustration and GD classes are 6 hours long!). My art teachers are much more lenient and flexible than my old art teachers which proves very beneficial to an artist to do their own thing..and is much more motivating for me.
My health is an obstacle with all this busy work I have, but I'm still pulling A's, which surprises me. Hopefully I'll find out exactly what's going on other then my Hypoglycemia. I miss sugar ;_;

Summer Time - Goal Time
Time for learning stuff I want to learn about! Flash, CSS, Photoshop techniques. My goal for the rest of this summer is to do a tutorial or chapter everyday. Whether it be a tutorial from a magazine, online, for whatever application, it will be done and at least one will be done everyday. I'm going to keep a list at that too, along with the results. NO LAZINESS.

Here's to future Scholarships
Unfortunately, I didn't receive the Transfer Scholarship I applied for a month ago. I did not expect too much for my first scholarship submission but I am still slightly disappointed. I curious to know what the winner's submission looked like. Oh well, gives me motivation to actually be motivated to create more artwork. Now I have experience with submitting so I won't be too hesitant to try again next time.
Maybe I'll even get my portfolio together this summer.

Scholarship Submission
I just sent in my submission for the CSU Fullerton Arts Scholarship for Junior Transfers. I didn't think I would since I missed the earlier deadline by accident. However, the Dean emailed later on about how he didn't receive as many submissions as he hoped so he extended the deadline and made it easier for us to submit it. Kind of felt like a godwink there. So I got off my butt and did it (why not try, right?). Took pictures of artwork I had laying around from previous classes. Could only have a max of 8 pieces. Majority of the ones I chose were done on Illustrator, but I also have some painting/drawing and web design in there.
The Scholarship is for $1000, which is a nice chunk of change. Now I just have to wait till late May to find out if I've won. I'll post a couple of my new artworks that I entered in my Art from a Ninjite blog.

Waiting till I receive and can enjoy the new Adobe Creative Suite 3. Which has dreamweaver AND flash among the adobe favs. This is going to be one package that will fulfill my creative taste buds. Hopefully by then I'll get my sites into gear (my two original ones: echoingdreams.com and ishnite.com, plus the new ocyeah.com). More information on those going ons coming soon.

Dedication to...
....myself...and my activities. That is what I think the Official Ishnite Blog should be. The what she doin with her life and the what she makin' with all her time. This isn't about all the complaining of the days or pains (like my whole right side of my body from walking 4 miles and playing tennis...and napping?). This is the blog that gives up-to-date info on what I'm working with (photoshop, illustrator) what I'm learning (CSS, Flash) and how my job and future career are doing. Mainly, this is to help me keep track of what I should be doing, and how my progress is going, because otherwise I don't think I'd ever get anything done.
And BEGODS! I might actually finish my websites this way. *crosses fingers*
